Applications
ASTM A1059, _Is used in areas where stresses such as; impact, wear, stress cracking, chemical stresses, atmospheric exposure, marine applications, contact corrosion. Much of the time one or more of these variables remove the corrosion protection and start a corrosion cell. With TDZ you have a hardness that disallows the substrate from layering and corroding.
- Downhole tools, pipes, casing, couplings , pup joints
- Highway Bridges - Used for rebar and tension bolting on bridges 20 miles from the coast or closer.
- Rivets- used on rivets, because it does not come off in wear or when threaded for that matter.
- Rail way hardware, rails and railroad carts.- Helps with impact, ground wear and threads
- Mining- pilings, tension supports, contain corrosion prevention
- Signs - TDZ, helps fight corrosion usually seen in ground installations
- Springs- (*) Very important Belleville, all springs, 5160 material
- Under carriage , breaking systems on automotives- Mercedes, BMW, Audi, VW, Porsche
- Tension Bolting- 4140, 410, 1018, 1015, 1045
- Bridges- Tension cables. tension bolting, rebar coating, hydrogen stress cracking prevention
- Military specs- Utilized in artillery, bolting, screws,
- Subsea applications- OCP is (.-850 to .-825 mV) on low carbon steel , L43 material in 3% saline solution.)
